Meet our staff

Matthew Bandy, Ph.D

Dr. Bandy is an industry leader in the application of artificial intelligence and deep learning methods to natural and cultural resource identification and management. His career has revolved around the intersection of technology and environmental resource studies. After working his way through graduate school as a programmer and database administrator in the late-90s San Francisco Dotcom startup scene, he transitioned to a career in environmental consulting. He then spent 14 wonderful and challenging years advancing through a series of operational management positions in a nationwide consulting firm. He was responsible for a staff of up to 70 and for sales and revenue in excess of 10 million dollars annually.

His most recent position before founding Resi was Vice President of Technology Solutions at a nationwide consulting firm. In that role, he managed a nationwide drone program and developed multiple proofs of concept for drone/AI survey methods. He is a FAA-licensed drone pilot and is experienced in training and deploying object detection systems using neural network architectures. He founded Resi to be able to focus on applying machine intelligence solutions to resource survey challenges.
